Taking Home-Cooked Meals on the Road

Before my family and I take our annual camping trip to Niagara Falls, I get busy in the kitchen. Although Iâm used to making home-cooked meals each night for my wife and sons, this is completely different. For days at a time the house is filled with the most delectable fragrances of food cooking. Unfortunately, most of it is off limits until our camping trip begins.
I put all of the excess foodstuffs in a food saver vacuum sealer, which locks in the fresh flavor of each meal. Once we hit the campsite, itâs just a matter of reheating the food. Of course we still enjoy gorging on traditional camping fare such as hotdogs, hamburgers and marshmallows, but those items will only take you so far. If youâre looking for a variety of flavors and a nutritional advantage, thereâs really no other option.
